Rhu & Shandon Parish ChurchPipes and Piers Concert on 4 September, 7 pm, Rhu Church
Rhu and Shandon Community Trust has organised a fund-raising concert to support two important local causes –
Rhu and Shandon Parish Church tower restoration fund and the reopening of Helensburgh Pier being led by Helensburgh Pier Company. A nautically themed music programme is in store for us all.
Renowned organist Professor Malcolm Sim of Glasgow Cathedral is also a Waverley aficionado and will be bringing his 8-foot replica working model of PS Waverley. This will be on display at the church, and if the weather is calm, we hope it will be possible to launch her earlier on the day, perhaps at Helensburgh Pier or on the Gareloch. Entry is by donation at the door.
