Mother and daughter killed in Co Donegal crash

Tributes have been paid to Natalie McLaughlin and her six-year-old daughter, Ella, who died following a road crash near Carndonagh, Co Donegal on Wednesday.

Ms McLaughlin’s partner, Tyrone Irwin, remained in Altnagelvin Hospital, Derry, in a serious condition on Friday, but his injuries are not understood to be life-threatening.

Ms McLaughlin’s younger daughter, Rhea Rose (2), was transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, for specialist treatment, but her injuries are also understood to not be life-threatening.

They were injured when their car was in collision with a van on the R240 road at Glentogher near Carndonagh on Wednesday evening.
