Journalist. Editor. Founder, The Early Line (earlyline.co). Previous senior roles spanning content, product and strategy @ The Scotsman, BBC, WSJ & the Guardian.

I’m delighted to say I’m Reach PLC’s new Editor-in-Chief for Scotland. I’ll oversee all the company’s titles here, including EdinburghLive, GlasgowLive and the Sunday Mail, and edit the Daily Record.

I grew up with many of these titles, know what they mean to the country and the communities they serve, and am very excited about their potential in the digital world. It’s also an exciting time to be joining Reach, as it navigates the ever-changing media landscape.

The new job doesn’t mean I’ll be giving up my newsletter, The Early Line, which has been one of the great joys of my career since its launch in January. It – and the close connection it has with its readers – has made me a better journalist, and I look forward to applying some of what I’ve learnt there with Reach.

I get started on August 18th. I can’t wait.
