Dumbarton made it two wins out of two in William Hill League Two with three points against Spartans this afternoon.
A Dom Docherty corner was put into his own net by Jamie Dishington to give Sons the lead before Kai Kirkpatrick rifled in a second.
An early goal after the break from Mark Stowe brought the visitors back into the game.
Sons had to see the game out with 10-men when Ryan Blair was dismissed for a second yellow card but Shay Kelly was well protected by his defence.
Dumbarton move up to one point in the division after starting the season with minus 5 and move up to sixth in the division.
