RACISM: Don’t let old prejudices, dressed up as “concern” or “fear”, poison communities again

The Irish once faced brutal prejudice in America, Britain, and Australia simply for being immigrants. People painted them as lazy, violent, “ape-like,” unworthy, a threat. And that despite the fact that the Irish played a major role in building these countries.
Signs like “No Irish Need Apply” kept honest, hardworking Irish people out of jobs and homes , solely because of where they came from.
These injustices weren’t minor, they were dehumanising. Innocent people were excluded, mocked, and denied chances to build a better life, just because they were seen as “other.”
Today: Whenever someone mocks hardworking immigrants , whether because they’re Muslim, people of colour, or from anywhere else, they echo the same hateful attitudes that once targeted the Irish.
If you truly believe in fairness and dignity — defend every immigrant’s right to hope, work, and belong. Don’t let old prejudices, dressed up as “concern” or “fear”, poison communities again.
Look at these images. Learn. Grow.  And stand for humanity.
