Pam Gosal MSP: I attended a very insightful event organised by the lovely ladies of Women’s Rights Network and sponsored by my colleague Tess White MSP titled ‘How Safe Are Our Scottish Hospitals.’Since 2019, it is shocking that almost 300 sexual assaults, including 12 rapes, have been reported within NHS Scotland, with the real number being much higher as this data is not routinely collected.SNP Ministers and NHS leaders have known about this issue for at least 10 years but have done virtually nothing. That is why it is important that data gathering and safety measures, including single-sex wards, are urgently implemented in all Scottish hospitals.
