On Tuesday, March 3rd, Mary Costello will join Sarah Kenny in conversation about her brand new novel, ‘A Beautiful Loan.’ Mary’s first novel, ‘Academy Street’, won the Novel of the Year Award at the Irish Book Awards and was named overall Irish Book of the Year, as well as being shortlisted for several other awards. She is also the author of two bestselling short story collections, and another critically acclaimed novel, The River Capture. Her new novel is set in Dublin and follows Anna, whose captivation with an older man leads to marriage and eventually, betrayal. She uncovers deeper layers of herself and her journey gives an intimate portrait of a woman embracing herself as she is, and claiming the life she yearns for. Niall Breslin, ‘Bressie’ will be in Kennys for an evening of conversation and music on Thursday, March 5th. A musician-producer, retired professional athlete, author, campaigner and broadcaster, Bressie also runs the acclaimed podcast ‘Where’s My Mind?’ which forms part of his great commitment to improving the focus on society’s mental health. His new book ‘The Place That Has Never Been Wounded’ offers practical ways to reconnect with your inner stillness and meet life’s challenges with patience and clarity. It is accompanied by meditations, and invites you to slow down and release what no longer serves you. He will be joined in conversation by Edel Coffey, and will also be singing a few songs!
