All at Drymen Show would like to thank everyone who joined us on Saturday, 30th May, for our 196th show.
The weather fared better than predicted, and we all enjoyed a warm if cloudy day until the rain joined us at 3 pm.
We had some fantastic entries across all our agricultural sections with numbers on par with last year and some new exhibitors, including our Overall Champion Hamish Schlater, all the way from Turriff with their Aberdeen Angus Bull, Deveron Lindasfarne.
Our best presented stockperson, however, came from closer to home and went to 8-year-old Esmi Doherty of Gartocharn with her Highland Cow. Esmi was chosen for her expert handling of her cow as well as her beautiful turnout.
As well as our livestock classes across Cattle, Sheep, Highland Ponies, and Clydesdales, including a new Ridden Clydesdale class, we had great entries across numerous other classes and competitions ranging from Walking Stick (Crook Making), Rabbits, Vintage Tractors and Cars, Light Horses, Rabbits, School and Nursery, Schools 5 A Side Football, Baking, Flower Arranging, Crafting, and Eggs.
We can’t thank all our exhibitors enough for their time and effort to enter.
This year saw a new location for our catering village, with new catering vans and some great music playing from the Loch Lomond Ukulele Band and the HMS Neptune Brass Band on our Band Stage. We also had a fantastic number and range of trade and craft stands that engaged with existing and new customers throughout the day.
Finally, thanks also to our sponsors, judges, stewards, convenors, committee members, and volunteers who help run, set up, and take down the show, without which no show would take place.
Here’s to next year’s show on Saturday, May 29th, 2027. We hope to see you there.
From all at Drymen Show
