It will be shown on BBC iplayer from Monday and then BBC 1 and BBC 2 It is the real life Handmaid’s Tale, the true story of the biggest human rights abuse of our time as a quarter of a million babies were torn from the arms of their terrified mothers whose only “crime” was that they were not married. The Forced Adoption era was a dark secret that remained hidden until our expose 15 years ago. Our campaign led to an apology by the Scottish Government and then the UK government. BAFTA-winning filmmaker Lorraine McKechnie of Finestripe has made an exceptional film. We have spent three years working on this, but the result is a film that will stay with you forever.
