It was a joy – I mean JOY – to be in Barga in Tuscany for the annual Scottish Weekend festival.
As President of Italian Scotland and Hon Consul, I was honoured to speak at the opening and closing ceremonies and introduce the play our charity sponsored for the opening night of the festival – a playful take on the lives of poets Robert Burns and Giovanni Pascoli.
The bonds between Scotland and Italy are natural and rich.
It’s such a joy to see this exchange (and embrace) of cultures grow.
