One of Ireland’s most celebrated traditional music groups, Lúnasa brings its distinctive sound and extraordinary musicianship to Clifden Arts Festival 2026.
Named after the ancient Celtic harvest festival in honour of the Irish god Lugh, Lúnasa was formed in 1997 by members of some of the finest Irish traditional music groups of the previous decade. From the beginning, their complex arrangements and unique sound have pushed the boundaries of traditional music and captivated audiences around the world.
The current line-up features an exceptional collection of musicians, including Trevor Hutchinson, Cillian Vallely, Kevin Crawford, Seán Smyth, Colin Farrell, Ed Boyd and Alan Kelly, each bringing an impressive wealth of experience from across the traditional and folk music world.
