Broadcaster, journalist and writer Kirsty Wark, pictured at the Edinburgh Book Festival with Democrat editor Bill Heaney, has become the first recipient of a new medal recognising outstanding contributions to communications, the arts and creative geography.
The Royal Scottish Geographical Society presented the inaugural Kirsty Wark Medal at a special event in the AK Bell Library in Perth.
