Two men have been convicted after firearms were recovered in Glasgow.

Reece Brown, 25, and Daniel Curran, 22, pleaded guilty at the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday, 28 October, 2026.

Around 8.55 pm on Tuesday, 5 May, 2026, officers were made aware of a bag having been discarded on Tynecastle Street, Glasgow, which contained firearms and ammunition.

Following the discovery, extensive inquiries were carried out, and a number of warrants were executed in the city on Friday, 15 May, 2026.

Both were arrested and charged.

Detective Sergeant Clarke said: “To discard firearms shows absolutely no regard for the safety of the local community.

“Thankfully, they were recovered by officers before they could cause serious injury to someone – or worse.

“Violence and the carrying of firearms are completely unacceptable.

“I believe these convictions send a message to those involved in serious criminality that we remain determined to bring you to justice.

“This was a significant recovery, and we worked closely with a range of partners to secure these convictions.

“I would also like to thank the public for their support throughout the investigation.”
