The Rev Fred Booth died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 25.
Mr Booth served as minister at the former St Columba Church on Helensburgh‘s Sinclair Street for 23 years, now the Tower Digital Arts Centre.
Mr Booth, who retired from St Columba’s in 2006 and also served at St Mark’s in Stirling in the 1970s, was the beloved husband of Ellen, father to Kirsty, and grandfather to Ellie. He died peacefully at his home on October 25.
Former moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Very Rev John Christie, who will lead his funeral service, told Helensburgh Parish Church’s morning worship on Sunday: “Those of you who knew Fred would have found in him a fine pastor, a good friend, and a man of deep faith. The light of Christ guided Fred and Ellen and Kirsty and Ellie through their lives.”
Funeral service at Helensburgh Parish Church on Friday 6th November at 11.30 am. Family flowers only, but donations to Cancer Research UK would be appreciated.
