Liv Dawn has been shortlisted for BBC Radio Scotland’s Singer / Songwriter of the Year Award alongside nine other Scottish songwriters.
The final four are chosen by public vote closing on 13th September at 6pm. The four are then to perform at a live final in front of talented judges – singer / songwriters Fran Healy, Horse McDonald and Karine Polwart, promoter Geoff Ellis and music industry executive Dee Bahl.
The top prize includes a recording session with BBC Scotland, an opportunity to play the King Tut’s stage at TRNSMT festival 2020 and a promotional video
Liv Dawn is a pop country singer from the small village Croftamie near Loch Lomond.
She entered the music scene when she was seventeen and has performed in acclaimed venues and events over Scotland – Balmaha Braw Weekend, King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, Sneaky Pete’s, The Classic Grand, Big Feed, Edinburgh’s Foodies Festival.
Originally, Liv stayed in Alexandria and moved up country three years ago. She went to the Vale of Leven Academy and was involved with many music activities and events during my school period – vocals groups, school shows.
Liv adores her local areas and has played around Balloch, Alexandria, Dumbarton, Drymen, Balmaha.

Liv previously played at events held in The Dumbuck House Hotel such as Bill Heaney’s third book release also music and charity nights at the Artizan in Dumbarton. Her drive and inspiration to pursue music was sparked from studying at the Vale of Leven and she is always appreciative of that.
Now pushing twenty one, Liv has been living in London over the summer months – busking and gigging for coverage, building her fan base and is ready to take her music career a step further.
iv crafts powerful stories through her lyrics that relate to every day life and relationships and having only released her first single ‘Reason’ in July, Liv plans to release an EP in the next coming months and keep moving forward within the music industry.
