Martin Docherty, the SNP candidate for West Dunbartonshire is feeling determined. Martin told his supporters: “My aim has always been to be the most accessible MP West Dunbartonshire’s ever had. By running at least eight surgeries each month I’ve met countless constituents who’ve been hit hard by Westminster austerity over the years. Helping constituents is the most rewarding part of being an MP, but it can also be the most frustrating as you see. So many examples of good people finding themselves in difficult situations through no fault of their own – usually due to the daft policies forced on us by this Westminster government. I’m determined to continue being a strong voice for our communities. I take nothing for granted and will continue working hard to secure your support once again at December’s election.” In the picture, Martin is centre between the suits who are Education Secretary John Swinney and Gill Paterson, the MSP for Clydebank. That’s Margaret McGregor from Haldane on the extreme left.
