There are currently 719 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Scotland, although the actual number of cases is likely to be in the tens of thousands.
Simon Community Scotland has sourced the use of two hotels – one in Glasgow, the other in Edinburgh – to provide homeless people with the isolation and care required so that are not exposed to the virus.
In an interview with BBC Radio Scotland, John Innes Centre virologist, George Lomonossoff, who uses molecular biology to understand the assembly and properties of viruses in the United Kingdom said: “Newspapers are pretty sterile because of the way they are printed and the process they’ve been through (to be produced).”
We’ll all remember this week. Every reporter worth his laptop is unlikely to forget coronavirus, the biggest story of modern times. However, these guys have seen more than a few remarkable stories zip out of their typewriters.
