DRINKING ON TRAINS IS BANNED FROM TOMORROW (MONDAY)

By Democrat reporter

With effect from Monday, 16 November, an alcohol ban will be applied at all of Scotrail stations and on all of our trains, as we continue to support the public health measures put in place by the Scottish Government to tackle coronavirus.
This new measure will help to maintain the physical distancing required while travelling and will also support greater use of face coverings at all stages of your journey.
It’s a temporary measure as we work hard to continue to deliver a safe environment for people to travel by train, and it’ll be reviewed continuously as government guidelines change.
For those not on social media, we’ll be making sure everyone is aware of the alcohol ban introduction through the use of station screens and PA announcements too.
The restrictions will be supported by the British Transport Police, who will assist railway staff where required, to ensure that people follow the guidance.
Body cameras will also be used by some frontline staff to help with the enforcement of the restrictions.
