POLICE: Appeal following theft of boat from Loch Lomond

By Lucy Ashton

Detectives in West Dunbartonshire are appealing for information after the theft of a boat from Cameron House Marina on Loch Lomond around 8pm, on Tuesday, 6 December 2022.

Inquiries have established the boat was taken from the marina and removed on a trailer towed by a light coloured SUV. The boat is a Carrera 225 which is a 23ft long sports boat with a black and blue hull.

After leaving Cameron House Marina, it has travelled Eastbound on the A82 before going through Old Kilpatrick. The boat was then abandoned and later recovered from an area off the A809 Stockiemuir Road, north of Milngavie.

Detective Constable Angela Tipping, of Clydebank Police Station, said: “Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and would urge anyone with information to come forward.

“We would be keen to speak with anyone who believes they may have seen the boat at any point between Cameron House and where it was abandoned, or who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage.

“If you can help please call 101, quoting incident 1753 of 7 December, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
