A celebration of all the music Iain loved from Sondheim to Wicked
On Friday the 21st June there is a memorial concert for The Beatson Institute and Maggie’s at The Denny Civic Theatre in Dumbarton for Iain Gordon.
Many of you won’t know Iain I sadly never met him however, becoming friends with his wife Maria through the Mummers while Iain was ill.
If you search Iain Gordon You’ll never walk alone on You Tube you will see his famed musicianship playing to a pub full of Celtic supporters before a game.
It went viral with most not even realising he was playing the original Rodgers and Hammerstein composition rather than Gerry and the Pacemakers
The concert next week is a celebration of all the music he loved from Sondheim to Wicked, From Caberet to Children of Eden. With a full live band and incredible performers. When I was taking these headshots I managed to get a sneak preview and I had literal goosebumps.
So, even if you didn’t know Iain I urge you to buy a ticket. Not only will you be supporting two fantastic causes but you will have a brilliant evening listening to incredible music including songs from a musical co written by Iain
