Tonight is Halloween when ghouls, ghosts and witches hit the streets and little ones fill their bags with treats.

But the forecast is for the temperature is to drop tonight so if you are taking your little ghost or witch or pumpkin trick or treating please make sure they are wrapped  warm as it looks like there might be a ‘bite’ in the air.

Dr Emilia Crighton, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Deputy Director of Public Health, is urging parents to make sure both they and their children are wearing warm clothes under their costumes.

She said:  “Halloween is a great time for children getting dressed up and going from door to door and getting sweets and treats.

“It should be an enjoyable time but it can also be a time where not keeping warm can put parents and their children at risk.

“It is expected to be cold tonight and everyone going out trick or treating should have appropriate clothing to keep them warm and have fun.”
