SWIMMERS BRAVE THE FALLS OF FALLOCH

The first snow of winter came to Loch Lomond last week. Braving the Baltic conditions at the Falls of Falloch near Ben Lomond yesterday were these intrepid swimmers,who went for a post Hallowe’en “dook” in the perishingly cold pools. These photographs were taken by Alan Ruine, who went there for the day with Jim Crosthwaite, brought peons of praise from pals on Facebook. Tommy Crocket described them as “excellent”; Maggie Haggerty as “lovely”, and there was praise too for the swimmers. David Tait said: “I was there yesterday and it was freezing just watching the falls” And Jean Campbell said: “Brave or crazy well done all .” Last word to Sarah Coleman who said: “Brrrr …Well done !”
