HAPPY CHRISTMAS FROM THE HEALTH BOARD

happy health board

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all the staff at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Our staff will be working over the Christmas and New Year festive holiday period to continue providing essential services to our local communities.

Please find below important information to help you if you need your local health services over the festive period.

At Christmas and New Year, Hospital Emergency Departments in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde can become very busy so avoid the queues and visit a local Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) instead.

MIUs can treat cuts, minor burns, sprains, strains, broken bones and more. Highly experienced staff can stitch wounds, arrange x-rays, apply plaster if required and it is usually faster than the Emergency Department. So to find your nearest MIU, go to https://www.nhsggc.org.uk/miu

The online NHSGGC Festive Guide to Your Health Services includes the opening hours of pharmacies throughout the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area and advice on how to access a GP when surgeries are closed. The guide provides vital information should you require healthcare over the festive holiday.

Go to  www.nhsggc.org.uk/kwttt to find all you need to know about your local health services during the holidays.
