THE TINY TED THAT’S FEEDING HUNGRY CHILDREN

The Craft Club at St. Mary’s Duntocher have been busy producing a “tumble of teds “ in the hope of feeding some of the world’s poorest children for a whole year.  Inspired by the wonderful book by Magnus MacFarlane Barrow  “The shed that fed a million” which tells the story of Mary’s Meals, we have adopted the title “The Ted that Fed” and will be asking for a £15.90 donation for each Ted, which will feed a child for a whole year. The Teds come  with a copy of their special poem.

Letter from Mary’s Meals

Mums

Dear friend,

As Mother’s Day approaches, I find myself thinking about the incredible women who make the work of Mary’s Meals possible – mothers, grandmothers, aunts and sisters from all around the world.

In the 18 countries where we serve our life-changing meals, it is most often mothers who volunteer to prepare, cook and serve the food. They do this so that their children, and children living in their communities, can have the chance of a better life.

In more ways than one, mums make Mary’s Meals. From the loving volunteers who prepare the food, to our dedicated supporters here in the UK who give so much, each and every little act of motherly love is cause for celebration. And of course, our charity is named after Mary, the mother of Jesus, who brought up her child in poverty.

This month you can support our beautiful work by sending a Mother’s Day gift card to your mum or someone special. Each £15.90 card will feed a hungry child for a year, meaning you can show your appreciation for the amazing women in your life while helping to feed hungry children around the world.

Thank you for all you do to feed 1.6 million hungry children every school day.

UK Executive Director, Mary’s Meals
