Edward Bruce cheques in with the cash at Erskine.

In January 2019, Bruce Stevenson announced Erskine Veterans’ Charity was to be our Charity of Choice for the year. We’re delighted to report that over the course of 2019 we raised a combined total of £18,000 for the charity.
Last week our CEO, Edward Bruce, paid a visit to The Erskine Home in Renfrewshire to deliver the remaining funds raised in 2019 to Erskine CEO, Ian Cumming MBE. Edward got the chance to see the work Erskine do up close and meet some of the residents.
Over the course of 2019 we supported the important work Erskine do in a variety of ways. The most notable of all was from our Commercial Director Andy Adam’s trip to Norway to take part in Exercise Hairspring. Despite the freezing conditions, Andy made it back in one piece and successfully raised £1,000 for Erskine. (linking to https://twitter.com/Erskine1916/status/1126788154147708928)
Our team in the Turriff Office ran a very successful fundraising quiz night, attended by dozens of local contestants. Held in their local Royal British Legion club. They had 18 teams of 4 taking part in quizzes. In total, they raised an amazing £781.67. (linking to https://twitter.com/BruceStevenson_/status/1189884273031024642)
Throughout the year, we also had weekly collections from our colleagues in each of our offices across the country.
Erskine Chief Executive Ian Cumming said: “We were delighted to meet Edward today and to receive this incredibly generous donation from all at Bruce Stevenson Insurance Brokers. Erskine couldn’t deliver outstandingly compassionate and professional care, without the support of donors.
Edward and his team really understand why we do what we do. They also offer strong support through the Armed Forces Covenant and Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. We are very lucky to enjoy their generosity and advocacy as our corporate partners.”
Bruce Stevenson CEO Edward Bruce said: “We were very proud to partner with Erskine in 2019 and I’m pleased that we have been able to support them with our donations.
When we signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2018 we made a pledge to support our Veterans and their families. The compassionate care and holistic support that Erskine provides Veterans and their spouses meant they were the perfect choice for our staff’s fundraising efforts.
I’m delighted that the contribution made by Bruce Stevenson and our staff will be helping such an important and worthy organisation.”
